Xiaomi has pulled the curtain back on its latest tablet, the Pad 7S Pro, in China. This new model arrives as the successor to the Pad 6S Pro, bringing a bigger display, a more refined design, and, perhaps most intriguing of all, Xiaomi’s own custom processor under the hood. For fans of Xiaomi’s tablets, it’s a carefully balanced update—enough fresh hardware to feel new, but familiar where it matters.
A Fresh Look, Subtle Upgrades

While the Pad 7S Pro doesn’t completely reinvent the wheel, it introduces a slightly larger 12.5-inch IPS LCD display with a crisp resolution of 2,136 x 3,200 pixels and a 3:2 aspect ratio. The panel can reach a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, which should help it stay readable even in bright daylight. Xiaomi is also offering a matte glass version they’re calling “soft light,” which has a built-in matte screen protector to cut down reflections.
On the outside, the tablet has grown a bit in size but has actually slimmed down, measuring just 5.8mm thick. Compared to the Pad 6S Pro’s 6.3mm profile, it feels sleeker and a touch more modern in the hand. Despite the larger footprint, it’s also lighter, weighing 576 grams.
Powered by Xiaomi’s Own Silicon
The biggest change is on the inside. Instead of using a Qualcomm or MediaTek chip, Xiaomi has equipped the Pad 7S Pro with its new Xring O1 processor. Built on a 3nm process, it can hit speeds up to 3.4GHz, promising snappy performance whether you’re gaming, working, or streaming.
Memory options cover a wide range. You can choose configurations starting with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and going up to 16GB of faster LPDDR5T RAM. Storage is just as generous, maxing out at 1TB of UFS 4.1 for those who need plenty of space.
Cameras, Battery, and Connectivity
For photography and video calls, Xiaomi has fitted the tablet with a 50-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture and PDAF. On the front, there’s a 32-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture, ready for video conferencing or selfies.
The battery remains one of the tablet’s strongest points—a large 10,610mAh capacity supports 120W wired charging, so topping it up is quick. It also offers 7.5W reverse wired charging if you need to juice up other devices. Connectivity includes USB Type-C with USB 3.2 Gen 1 speeds, Wi-Fi 7 for faster internet, and Bluetooth 5.4.
Variants, Pricing, and Availability
Xiaomi has priced the Pad 7S Pro from CNY 3,300, which translates to roughly Rs. 39,000 for the base version with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. If you want the fully loaded 16GB RAM and 1TB storage variant, be prepared to spend around CNY 4,500, or about Rs. 53,000.
There are four finishes: Black, Purple, Titanium Silver, and Basalt Gray. For those who prefer a premium feel, the Matte Glass version comes exclusively in Black but is limited to the higher-end configurations.
Sales have already begun in China, though Xiaomi hasn’t shared any details yet about a global launch.
Accessories and Final Thoughts
Like its predecessor, the Pad 7S Pro comes with a set of optional accessories: the Focus Keyboard, a standard keyboard, the Xiaomi Focus Pen, and a protective cover. These extras help transform the tablet into a productivity machine when needed.
Overall, while the upgrades are measured rather than revolutionary, Xiaomi’s shift to its own chip design and the combination of a bigger display, thinner body, and faster charging show how seriously it’s taking the tablet market. For those already invested in the Xiaomi ecosystem—or anyone searching for a high-end Android tablet—this could be an exciting new option.
